Stage Edging

Stage edging is available to add the finishing touch.  Not only does it hide the leg structure of the system but also allow for many items to be stored under the stage out of sight.  Many colour finishes and options are available including:

  • Valance curtains
  • Plywood fascias
  • Carpeted fascias
  • Hardwood fascias
  • PVC boarding – personalised branding with logos and options of colour schemes available
Stage Bracing
stage bracing

Stage bracing systems are used in particular circumstances to help assist in the stability of the staging.

Each system is individually designed per application and early consultation is recommended as there may be other systems within the CPS range that could eliminate the need to use this.

Handrails
standard and infilled handrails

The main two types of handrail are the standard (on the left in image) and infilled (on the right).  The infilled was designed specifically for school use to make sure children are safe whilst on stage and the standard is widely used in many applications.

The heavy-duty handrails are used for more substantial applications and venues where the systems are in heavy and constant use.  Although many different size can be accommodated, the standard is 1m wide and all handrails have integrated chair holding borders.

All handrails can be finished in a material most suitable for the use i.e. galvanised for exterior.

Chair Borders

The chair holding borders are available in 1m, 1.5m or 2m lenghts, are constructed out of aluminium and just clip into the accessory rail surrounding the platforms.

Platform Connections
klemmfix staging platform connector

The most popular way of connecting the stage platforms is by means of an expanding self-levelling connector called the klemmfix which is operated by a simple tool.

Under stage red clamps which are simply hand tightened by a large wing nut are also available as an alternative to the klemmfix.

For tight areas or applications where difficult to use either the klemmfix or the under stage clamps such as pit infills and systems built to the exact room width, the top lock system is available which is an extremely innovation method operated from the deck surface.

Steps

CPS Manufacturing Co has a range of standard step systems available to match and accessorise your staging platforms. We have provided an outline of the collection available below.

System step

Our standard stage step, comprising of modular treads. Frames are in black finished tubular steel with the treads in waterproof anti-slip finished plywood. Treads slot over one another to provide a set of steps.

staging box style steps

Box-style step

Steps are self-supporting, constructed in black finished tubular steel with the treads in waterproof anti-slip finished plywood. Adjacent treads are bolted to each other to form a flight of steps. For extreme heavy duty use or where the platform edge cannot be used to support the top tread, meaning the System Step cannot be used.

Timber step – All Timber

Treads are in solid hardwood (Oak / Beech as standard), with risers veneered to match. Constructed as a single unit, independent of any fascia panels, to be placed anywhere around the perimeter of the stage / dais. Retaining clips are used to prevent steps moving on polished floors and ensure stability. Steps are fitted with adjustable feet to allow for uneven floors.

Timber step – All carpet

Treads are constructed in MDF with a solid hardwood nosing (Oak / Beech as standard). Constructed as a single unit, independent of any fascia panels, to be placed anywhere around the perimeter of the stage / dais. Treads and risers are carpeted in Heckmondwike Supacord or to client specification. Retaining clips are used to prevent steps moving on polished floors and to ensure stability. Steps are fitted with adjustable feet to allow for uneven floors.

Storage and Transport
staging trolley

Alu Rapid and Alu Rapid Junior decks store in a self-contained stack to a maximum of 20 high, that’s 40m2 of staging into just 2m2 of floor space! The transport kit includes heavy-duty wheels, towing handle and a strap.

The innovative design uses the first platform with durable rubber castors taking the place of stick feet as the base of the trolley, allowing the other platforms to be stacked on top of each other with all most accessories stored within. This enables the staging to be transported to other areas of the school and also gives the benefit of not having a bulky trolley to store when the stage is in use. Trolley’s to fit through doorways or into a specific area can also be purpose designed and built to your requirements.

Purpose made covers are available for schools that lack space in their storage room. This enables staging to be stored in the corner of a room nicely under cover giving an appearance either a table or display unit.

Access Ramps
access ramps

Access ramp kits are readily available to enable wheelchairs or heavy items to be manoeuvred easily onto the stage.

The ramps are designed out of individual stage units with correct gradient aluminium stick feet so as to keep the versatility of the system to a maximum should the units be needed for elsewhere. It is especially important that disabled access is provided for.

Electrical Boxes
stage electrical socket box

Electrical boxes can be installed within the units meaning that all extension leads and electrical connections can run under the stage to save tripping hazard and keep the stage looking clean.

The boxes can perfectly blend in with the stage surface as the material, whether carpet or timber can be fitted into the top of the unit.

Light & Sound Systems
staging light and sound systems

Stand-alone plug and play light and sound systems are readily available for your smaller type productions where the product can be stored away then easily used at a moment’s notice.

Fully integrated systems can also be provided and worked into the structure of the demountable staging by utilising truss products.  Alternatively, the systems can be professionally installed for permanent style stage scenes to give your audience a superb light and sound experience.

We can also offer projectors with our light and sound systems.

Communion Rails & Lecterns
